Common Questions About Gutters in the Pacific Northwest.

Cost & Estimates

4 Questions
  • Most residential seamless gutter installations in Pierce and King County run between $800 and $2,200. A standard 2,000 sq ft single-story home typically falls in the $900–$1,400 range. Variables that affect cost include total linear footage, roof complexity and pitch, number of downspouts required, material selection, and whether fascia repair is needed. We provide complete written estimates before any work begins. Learn more about our installation process.

  • Most residential cleanings in the Bonney Lake and Puyallup area run between $150 and $350 depending on linear footage, roof height, access, and debris volume. We quote before scheduling. Learn more about our cleaning process.

  • We respond to estimate requests within 24 hours and typically schedule on-site visits within a few business days.

Installation

5 Questions
  • Sectional gutters are assembled from fixed-length pieces joined with connectors and sealant. Every connection point is a potential failure. Seamless gutters are formed in a single continuous piece for each run of your roofline, with joints only at corners and end caps. Seamless systems have significantly fewer leak points and are the standard for professional installation. See how we install seamless gutters.

  • 5" K-style aluminum is appropriate for most standard residential applications. 6" is recommended for larger roof surfaces, high-pitch rooflines that accelerate water flow, or properties with heavy conifer canopy that increases both water volume and debris load. We assess your specific roofline and make a recommendation based on your actual conditions.

  • Most residential installations are complete in a single day. Complex rooflines, large homes, or projects that include fascia repair may require two days. We confirm timeline during the estimate.

  • We carry a full range of aluminum coil colors. Most standard exterior trim colors are available. If you have a specific trim color, bring the manufacturer reference to the estimate and we can match or coordinate.

  • Yes. We work on new construction as well as existing homes and remodels.

Cleaning & Maintenance

3 Questions
  • Twice per year is standard for most western Washington homes — late fall after the primary drop and late winter or early spring after the heavy rain season. Homes with significant conifer overhang may need three or four cleanings annually. Learn more about our cleaning process.

  • Late November or early December — after the main deciduous and conifer fall drop but before the heaviest winter rain events — is the most important cleaning. Late February or March clears the winter accumulation before spring rain intensifies. Both visits matter.

  • Yes, if you're comfortable working safely at height and have appropriate equipment. The risks are falls from ladders and damage to gutters from improper cleaning technique. If your home is more than one story or has complex roofline access, professional cleaning is worth the cost for the safety margin alone.

Repairs

3 Questions
  • Repair is appropriate when the material is in sound condition and failure is localized — a specific joint, hanger, or section. Replacement is appropriate when the system is corroded throughout, the fascia is compromised along its length, or the system is undersized for your roof. We give you an honest assessment of both options during the estimate. Learn more about our repair process.

  • Overflow from a clean gutter usually means one of three things: the system is undersized for your roof area, the pitch has shifted and water is pooling at the wrong point, or a downspout is blocked internally. All three are diagnosable during an assessment.

  • Usually. Sagging is most commonly caused by hanger failure — the fasteners have worked loose from the fascia. Re-hanging the affected section with new hardware typically resolves it, provided the fascia itself is sound. We assess both the gutter and the fascia during a repair estimate.

Gutter Guards

4 Questions
  • For homes with significant conifer canopy, a properly matched guard system reduces cleaning frequency substantially. The key phrase is "properly matched" — most consumer-grade guard products are not designed for the needle loads common in PNW climates. The wrong product doesn't reduce cleaning, it just makes cleaning harder. Learn how we select guard systems for PNW conditions.

  • No. Fine debris, moss fragments, and granules accumulate over time on any guard system. A realistic expectation for a quality guard on a PNW property is one to two cleanings per year rather than three to four. On low-canopy properties, cleaning frequency may be even less. We set honest expectations before installation.

  • Yes, in most cases. We assess the existing gutter condition first. Poorly pitched or damaged gutters should be corrected before guard installation — otherwise the guard makes the underlying problem harder to detect.

  • Quality aluminum and stainless mesh guard systems last 15–20+ years with normal maintenance. Plastic and foam insert products have significantly shorter lifespans and we don't install them.
